Bridge Mutual Team Highlight: Lili Feng
The second feature in our esteemed ‘Team Highlight’ series is Lili Feng, our Chief Legal Officer. To call Lili an expert on the legalities of the blockchain space would be an understatement, as she probably has more experience with blockchain, cryptocurrency, and securities law than many entire law firms. When dealing with highly strict financial products, it’s extremely important to have strong legal counsel that can guide you through potentially tricky regulatory matters. As our CLO, Lili is all this and more.
Lili received her Masters in Law (LLM) from Chicago Kent Law School and is barred to practice law in New York, Illinois, and China. Lili has a financial law background, before she began working with blockchain law, she had over 15 years of experience working in fintech, securities, and capital markets at a global level. She has worked for firms Foley & Lardner and Ruton Capital, and has also worked for the United States Security and Exchange Commission, the regulatory body meant to protect investors, maintain fair and efficient markets, and help with the formation of capital.
Since moving her legal focus onto blockchain, Lili has advised over 20 blockchain projects in regards to their legal structures and international regulatory compliance. As one of the foremost experts on blockchain law in the world, Lili is an advisor to Peking University’s Incubator Blockchain Lab and a co-author of Blockchain Finance, a textbook used by Tsinghua University students.
As the first decentralized, peer-to-peer insurance platform offering insurance on stablecoins, cryptocurrency exchanges, smart contracts, and future products, we need the best legal minds in the space to make sure our users are protected on all ends. Although Bridge Mutual is a fully decentralized project, we want to make sure we have the right legal framework in place to succeed long term.
